Meet Our Alumni Council
Our Alumni Council consists of incredible alumni of our GWI Online Intensive and Summer Intensive programs. They span different cohorts and universities and have interned/worked for various investment management firms. The Alumni Council serves as a voice for the alumni community while advising GWI staff on a variety of topics, including upcoming events, recruiting, and regional and alumni-wide community building.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: My most memorable GWI moment was teaching an indoor cycling class to a group of GWI alumni! It was so fulfilling to connect with other amazing women had completed the program. I met alumni across cohort years and was reminded of how quickly GWI has grown and how strong the community is. I’m so excited to continue watching the GWI network grow and succeed in years to come!

Most Memorable GWI Moment: At the 2024 Goldman Sachs Emerging Manager Hedge Fund Conference in Orlando, I met a few alumni who had recently taken full time jobs at different endowments & foundations and other alumni who were working the event on the Goldman side of the house. It felt empowering to see GWI’s lasting impact through our presence & representation! The GWI experience lasts well after the initial program ends.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: My most memorable GWI moment has been joining during my first year of college and watching myself grow over the years. Now, as a senior, it’s so special to be able to give back to the community that has meant so much to me. Serving our California community for two years was amazing, but the true highlight was planning our community service event and brunch this past year, where we came together to clean the beach. It was a beautiful experience, combining my love for GWI with making a positive impact.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: Most memorable GWI moment: working with GWI alumni every day! In my role at Oaktree, I work closely with Anniqa Karmali, a GWI alum who first shared the opportunity with me and has been a great mentor and friend from day one. In addition, this past summer working with our GWI interns was amazing, as I was able to contribute directly to the development of our scholars and alumni and saw firsthand how the community has grown.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: One of my favorite GWI memories was representing the organization and speaking on a panel at T. Rowe Price about my OIP experiences. I loved the chance to advocate for our mission and connect with leaders in our organization, such as Anna Dopkin, Seema Hingorani, Katherine Jollon Colsher, and many others.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: My most memorable moment was during the graduation ceremony of the SIP 2024 cohort following the program this summer. Sitting among my new lifelong friends, and listening to the speakers present, I could reflect on how much I had grown and truly felt the immense impact of this program. Most Memorable GWI Moment: On the final day of the GWI SIP in-person training at Wharton, a few fellow scholars and I gathered at a local restaurant in Philadelphia. As we shared stories about Girls Who Invest, discussed our upcoming internships, and reminisced about the memories we made, it hit me—these friendships are for life. The bonds we've forged within this remarkable group of scholars are incredibly strong, and I realized just how fortunate I am to be part of such an inspiring community.

Organized by GWI alumni, the immersive day was an engaging opportunity to learn from current and former GWI Scholars (and Seema herself)! It was inspiring to see generations of GWI in various stages of their careers supporting one another.

Stepping into the role of a real investor was exhilarating, and it deepened my love for both the industry and the city itself.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: One of the most memorable moments was delivering the stock pitch presentation. Initially, I was nervous, but I focused on organizing my thoughts clearly and methodically. I learned to present a compelling case, highlighting key financial metrics and strategic insights about the company. This experience taught me the importance of confidence and the value of collaboration, as I relied on my counterparts for feedback and support. Together, we crafted a well-rounded and persuasive pitch, reinforcing the power of teamwork and mutual trust in achieving our goals.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: My favorite aspect of Girls Who Invest isn’t a single moment but rather the series of coffee dates I’ve had in NYC with girls from my cohort. I was surprised to find that Girls Who Invest never really “ends” – whether through the alumni you meet at your firm or the lasting friendships from the program, the program continues well into your working life.

Most Memorable GWI Moment: My most memorable GWI moments revolve around the incredible connections I made during my time with the program. Studying abroad and meeting up with my cohort members across Europe was unforgettable. Equally special was the bond I forged with my roommates from the 2023 SIP cohort. Living with one of them in New York City the following summer and having another visit me during my GWI internship in Boston was an amazing experience. I'm truly grateful for the lifelong friendships and experiences that GWI has given me.
